Understanding Mental Health
Free ‘Understanding Mental Health First Aid & Mental Health Advocacy’ distance learning course. Suitable for learners who wish to raise awareness of mental health, creating a culture of care and the promotion of positive mental health.

Volunteering (VODA)
VODA’s accredited Volunteer Centre can help with every aspect of volunteering – from finding a role to suit you and your interests, to offering extra support to volunteers who need it. They also provide advice and training to organisations that involve volunteers to help ensure that the experience is a positive one for everyone!

The King’s Trust
The King’s Trust provide 16 to 30-year-olds with free training courses, mentoring, and funding to help them find a job in healthcare. Their team will work with you to find the right course or job role for you. They will help develop your skills and confidence, ensuring you have everything you need to get a job in the healthcare sector.

Working Well North Tyneside
From accessing the latest jobs through to mental health support, they bring vital services together into one location.
This one-stop-shop makes it easier for people to access employment and skills services and view the latest jobs.
Partners include the NHS, Age UK, Citizens Advice, National Careers Service and the community and voluntary service.


Working for Carers
The Working for Carers project is a partnership between Newcastle Carers, North Tyneside Carers’ Centre and Carers Northumberland.
If you are caring for someone and you’re not employed to do this, then you are an unpaid carer. Get specialised support for unpaid carers aged 16 + to find a job, advance in their careers, or return to work.
Supporting carers in the workplace enables them to access employment, education, training and volunteering roles.
North Tyneside VODA
VODA’s Volunteer Centre helps the general public find out about volunteering opportunities with charities and community groups in North Tyneside.
We can help with information on different kinds of volunteering that might be of interest. We can also help you to contact with organisations you’d like to find out more about, or, if you prefer, you can contact them directly.
There are opportunities you can get involved in from home or opportunities to be out and about. There are flexible roles where you volunteer at times that suit you, and roles with a regular pattern.
