Adult social care in North Tyneside
North Tyneside adult social care services provide a wide range of support to the residents including:
- Providing information and advice and connecting residents to further services in the community
- Offering preventative services, that can help maintain or improve their independence so they can continue to live at home for as long as possible
- Offering short-term or urgent support to keep safe and well until their situation is stable and they are in a better position to make decisions about their long-term care.
- Supporting with ongoing care and support to meet identified eligible needs

In 2021/22 the adult social care sector in England had an estimated 17,900 organisations with 39,000 care-providing locations and a workforce of around 1.79 million posts*.
In North Tyneside, there were an estimated 6,800 posts in adult social care, split between local authorities (7%), independent sector providers (85%) and posts working for direct payment recipients (8%). As of March 2022, North Tyneside contained 74 CQC-regulated services; of these, 45 were residential and 29 were nonresidential services*.
