Job Description
ESPA (Education and Services for People with Autism) are looking to recruit a Team Leader to work into a Supported Living Service in North Tyneside supporting 3 young men and providing outreach support to a young man in his own tenancy in Tynemouth.
Applicants will need to be experienced in delivering services of excellence to autistic adults and young people with complex needs.
You must have a mature, confident and compassionate character and approach to your work. Knowledge and experience of positive behavioural approaches is essential, as is the ability to model best practice at all times in the workplace.
Job Purpose
Ensure delivery of the highest standard of support for autistic adults, assisting each individual to achieve positive outcomes as identified in their personalised care and support plan.
Promote the ethos and philosophy of ESPA and to act as an excellent role model at all times.
To be responsible for the day to day management of the service/s working with colleagues and within ESPA processes.
Liaise with ESPA colleagues and other professionals to ensure that a holistic and responsive service is provided.
Requirements
As the role of Team Leader you will need:
- Knowledge of CQC and their role is necessary
- Flexible approach to your work would be essential
- The successful candidate will have strong leadership qualities and be committed to providing a service that prioritises the safety, well-being and progression of the people being supported
- Candidates would need to be experienced in conflict resolution and be able to manage sensitive situations with discretion
- Successful candidate will need to be available to be part of the senior on-call team and, if necessary, provide sleep-in cover
- Minimum qualification Level 3 Health and Social Care Diploma and a willingness to work towards completion of Level 5
General Responsibilities:
- Oversee the support provided and to encourage the personal development of all individuals in receipt of services
- Promote and encourage a safe, positive, supportive, nurturing and respectful culture at all times within the team
- Act as an excellent role model to manage the staff team in such a way, that they understand the importance and need for positive role modelling at all times
- Work in collaboration with ESPA Learning and Development department and members of the MDT team to support the professional development of the staff team
- At times of need, undertake a variety of shifts including sleep in, night shifts and weekends, as appropriate
