Job Description

Flexible Support Options are looking for support workers to provide support and promote independence in all aspects of daily living to People who have a learning disability, physical disability, sensory disability, mental health support needs or who have a forensic history.

Provide the appropriate level of service that meets contractual obligations, government directives, and company quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Direction:

Staff will contribute to the development of the Service provided through active  participation in Supervision Sessions, Appraisals, Team Meetings and other appropriate forums.

2. Budgeting/Financial Planning:

Support people with their finances and ensure all records follow relevant policies and procedures.

3. Quality of Service:

  • Support people in all aspects of their daily lives, actively promoting independence by assessment and planning in conjunction with his or her Person-Centred Plan
  • Ensure that the systems of assessment and planning are maintained in line with policies and procedures. To maintain all records and attend relevant meetings as required
  • Participate in a keyworker system where relevant
  • Work to a professional standard in a manner that promotes positive relations
  • Practice non aversive strategies to adverse behaviour at all times
  • Be supportive to the person in all aspects of running their home
  • Maintaining their dietary needs and promoting a healthy lifestyle
  • Supporting with short breaks or holidays they may wish to take
  • Report any achievements, incidents, accidents, illnesses, occurrences in accordance with Policies and Procedures
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety and Risk Assessment Policies, Procedures, Guidance and Protocols
  • Undertake specific duties that are delegated within Staff members level of competence and experience
  • Actively network in the Community to ensure the people supported have strong links and experiences, valued Social Inclusion and Integration

4. Personal Development:

Fully participate in Supervisions, Appraisals and Performance and Development Plans.

Identify Training needs in conjunction with the Service Manager.

Fulfil Training opportunities.

Accept Training to the required standard as determined by the National Occupational Standards and Care Standards.
