Desirable:
- Good Knowledge of disability issues
- Knowledge of services for people with a learning disability
- Understanding of care standards
Qualifications and Training
Essential:
- Good general education
- Prepared to attend training and complete required qualifications
Desirable:
- L2 Diploma in Health and Social Care
- Care Certificate
- First Aid
- Moving and positioning
- Medication awareness
Experience
Desirable:
- Experience of supporting people with a learning disability
- Supporting people with their own personal care needs
Disposition
Essential:
- Able to manage a varying workload in a structured and organised approach
- Effectively manage difficult and potentially challenging situations
- Socially confident
- Good inter-personal skills
Special Requirements
Essential:
- Ability to use own initiative
- Being able to work alone and part of a team
- Able and willing to work flexible hours and varying shift patterns including sleep- ins or waking nights where necessary
- Good attendance and time keeping record
Desirable:
- Full UK accepted driving licence and use of car
